Excel Essentials - Summer School online events. Online
Whether you're crunching numbers or analysing data, Microsoft Excel is an indispensable tool in the academic skills toolkit. This 2-session (2x2hr) introductory online programme is delivered through Microsoft Teams, and designed specifically for BU undergraduate & postgraduate students who want to build confidence in using Excel, with a particular focus on mathematical applications.
Throughout this course, you'll learn how to:
- Navigate Excel’s interface
- Use formulas and functions to solve mathematical problems
- Create dynamic charts and graphs to visualise data
- Apply logical reasoning and statistical tools to datasets
No prior experience is needed, this is an introductory course, just bring a curiosity for numbers and a willingness to explore how Excel can support your studies at BU and beyond.
The Summer School Excel sessions will commence on Thursday 24th July, from 10 am to 12 pm, and end on Thursday 31st July.
After each session, you'll have access to class notes and Excel woorkbooks to support your learning. Plus, you're always welcome to book a one-on-one consultation in the Academic Skills Hub if you need applying Excel to your own data and projects.
Look out for Excel masterclass events throughout the academic year along with mathematics and statistics programmes, alerts placed in your Brightspace Pulse app.
Participants will receive additional details and the Teams link prior to the programme's commencement on Thursday 24th July at 10am (BST)
