A Level Pure Mathematics (Paper 1 & Paper 2) Revision Workshop Series

(Exam Papers will be used)

Are you studying a course that involves mathematics? Perhaps you completed A Level Mathematics several years ago and would like a refresher, or maybe you never studied A Level Mathematics but would like to develop your mathematical skills and confidence.

This six-week workshop series provides an excellent introduction to the key topics found in A Level Pure Mathematics Papers 1 and 2. The sessions will focus on fundamental concepts, problem-solving techniques and exam-style questions commonly encountered at A Level.

Whether you are studying Engineering, Computing, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Psychology, or simply wish to strengthen your mathematical knowledge, these workshops will help develop your confidence and mathematical thinking.

No prior A Level study is required.

Workshop Dates

Session 1: 7 October 2026

Time: 1 hour per session from 10a.m. to 11a.m.

Session 1 – Algebra & Functions (Paper 1)

• Algebraic manipulation
• Surds and indices
• Factorising and simplifying expressions
• Solving equations and inequalities
• Functions and function notation
• Composite and inverse functions

Session 2 – Coordinate Geometry (Paper 1)

• Straight-line graphs
• Gradients and equations of lines
• Parallel and perpendicular lines
• Midpoints and distances
• Circles and their equations
• Applications of coordinate geometry

Session 3 – Trigonometry (Paper 1)

• Trigonometric ratios
• Exact values
• Trigonometric graphs
• Trigonometric identities
• Solving trigonometric equations
• Modelling problems using trigonometry

Session 4 – Differentiation (Paper 2)

• Differentiation from first principles
• Power rule and common differentiation techniques
• Tangents and normals
• Stationary points
• Maximum and minimum problems
• Curve sketching

Session 5 – Integration (Paper 2)

• Reverse differentiation
• Indefinite and definite integration
• Areas under curves
• Applications of integration
• Solving practical problems
• Mathematical modelling

Session 6 – Exponentials, Logarithms & Mixed Pure Revision (Paper 2)

• Exponential functions
• Logarithms and logarithmic laws
• Solving exponential and logarithmic equations
• Numerical methods
• Problem-solving techniques
• Mixed A Level Pure Mathematics exam-style questions
