SUMMARY:Quantitative Research Skills: Data Analysis and Statistical Techniques (Wednesday Group)
DESCRIPTION:This workshop programnme\, delivered through Microsoft Teams\,
is perfect for students at all levels of study who are (or are about to)
undertaking a quantitative research project in the university. Whether
you're completely new to statistics or looking to deepen your
understanding\, this hands-on online workshop series will help you
confidently analyse your research data. \n\nThese workshops guide
researchers through developing a methodology and hypotheses\, generating
descriptive statistics\, conducting hypothesis testing\, and checking
assumptions. You'll also learn how to perform a variety of statistical
analyses using SPSS\, with skills that can easily be applied to other tools
like JASP and STATA. Additionally\, we provide guidance on writing your
results in APA format and incorporating effective tables and charts into
your research project.\n\nNo prior knowledge of quantitative statistics or
SPSS is required. My goal is to make statistics logical\, simple\, and
accessible for all researchers at BU\, regardless of your previous
experience. After each session\, you'll have access to comprehensive class
notes\, sample data\, and PowerPoint presentations to support your
learning. Plus\, you're welcome to book a one-on-one consultation with me
to discuss the specifics of your own research.\n\nThe sessions will
commence on Wednesday 29th January\, from 10 am to 12 pm\, and will recur
every Wednesday for 8 weeks through this semester.\n\nThis semester's
Quantitative Analysis & Statistics program includes the following
topics:\n\n1 Introduction to Statistical Analysis (Wednesday 29th January
10am)\n2 Managing and Manipulating data in SPSS - preparing for analysis
(Wednesday 5th February 10am)\n3 Introduction to Null Hypothesis
Significance testing and P values (Wednesday 12th February 10am)\n4
Introduction to T test analysis (Wednesday 19th February 10am)\n5
Introduction to ANOVA analysis (Wednesday 26th February 10am)\n6
Introduction to Correlation and Regression analysis (Wednesday 5th March
 10am)\n7 Nonparametric Testing part A (Wednesday 12th March 10am)\n8
